I’m not using VoxRec for this recording. And I probably won’t use it again until I’m back home, which is soon. And I don’t think I’ll need it with how much I’ll want to say anyway. If you asked me a couple of months prior, I was already set in the belief that Trump was going to take a second term, easily I might add. This didn’t fill me with immense dread or joy.
Just a kind of indifference to something I believed to just be factual. Now though, and through a lot of the month of October, that has kind of shifted. Here I am now, on November 3, Tuesday afternoon, Watching something so close, a race that’s so very close. And I’m watching Corona worsen, and I’m seeing business and buildings boarding up their walls in preparation for protests and riots from either side.
Chaotic, it might be, but it’s overall astounding. I’m looking at a tired nation. Before people spam me about being a communist socialist bitch who voted for Biden, I do just want to take the time to acknowledge that we are a nation that’s unified in exhaustion. We want this to be over.
While I could be wrong though, I have the good anxiety, the anticipation for tonight, that’s speaking volumes. It feels like nothing will ever fall into place the way this election will.
I have a damn exam and presentation tomorrow, and I can’t stop paying attention to all that’s happening right now.
I know I’m talking like a broken record, I have a habit of doing that on every scale of this blog obviously. But the damn motivation that got my lazy exhausted ass to vote that fateful Saturday with the insane lines I suffered through, it’s powering me through tonight and keeping my eyes locked on what’s going on right now.
And nothing’s even really happened yet….
I’m gonna have to wait 5 more hours before any of this even begins to start resolving. And from the likeliest scenario that I’ve been hearing about, none of it will be resolved until like 3 days after tonight at least. I’m looking at Ohio though. I’m pretty sure they’ll have most of their votes in by the time polls close at 7. And it’ll be a good indicator of who wins period.
My socialist communist Demonrat opinion piece.
If you scrolled down this far to know what my political opinion is: I feel Republicans pushing Amy Barrett as opposed to more stimulus packages is fucked, college students not only not getting any stimulus but the addition of them hurting their parents chance of getting it is part of the reason voter turnout is high. The fact that Trump rallies have killed people more people with Covid, than Tidepods (a so called “phenomenon” that was reported way back in 2017) have ever killed, shows just how badly his dismissal of the virus actually is.
Literally after taking office (2017) GLAAD reported LGBT acceptance dropping 5%, right before Charlottesville when he decided, after white supremacists had attacked and killed a number of people, that there were “people wrong on both sides”. This right before him siding with Putin over American intelligence about Russian interference with the 2016 election. Right before the Stormy Daniels thing came more and more into light, this happening right before the messy midterm elections and Brett Kavanaugh, and all the while dealing with an entire year of school shootings and hurricane relief failures, the list just went on and on. That was literally just 2017, immediately after taking office.
People seem to forget all the time that there was a horrid non stop train of garbage BEFORE CORONA EVEN HIT! And now, hate crimes against Asian-Americans are up because he stigmatized COVID as the Chinese flu. A police reform bill that America pretty much demanded May-September was essentially stalled, a bill people are still out trying to protest for. Even after catching the virus himself, after claiming for months and touting both that it will go away and that it is a hoax, he continues to babble that he surviving it(with essentially the greatest medicine that aren’t really accessible to the rest of the American people) means anyone can. He’s a mess, and I was sick of him being in office, before January 2017 when he actually sat in it.
And if there are any republicans out there who want to debate me/fight me in the comments, go right ahead. Just know that I won’t be angry if Trump wins. I just have had a lot to say because there was and still is a lot happening right now.
Alright, I think I’m done with that…
Now let me calm down and go back a little bit to the original subject matter. I have anxiety because it seems this is really the time to move forward, push aside politics, and get somewhere fast. Actually taking action. But those actions depend entirely on who’s going in. And no matter who wins, while in my heart of hearts, I have the feeling it won’t happen, people are bracing for riots. The nation is on the brink of honest chaos, and hospitals really are already struggling as is. I can tell you, I would be happy if Biden wins, maybe a little giddy.
But for the takeaway for this post, regardless of who wins, please do your best to accept it. Realize that protesting and fighting will not help this country.
But onto the little message that I have, that good bit of anticipation is telling me that Trump may be out, and I am admittedly so excited. But of course I can be wrong. And realistically me talking politics will get me in trouble regardless. Just sharing my opinion. As always.
Thanx for listening 💋
